Timiza Ugatuzi (Kenya Devolution Programme) Design Clinics

As the leading a consortium of Kenyan and international institutions implementing the UKaid : Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) funded CSOs led Timiza Ugatuzi (Kenya Devolution Programme-KDP) which is the successor of the Kenya Devolution Support Programme and AHADI we hosted programme design clinics for local civil society networks across our regions of implementation.

Timiza Ugatuzi aims to contribute to making devolution more effective in Kenya with particular emphasis on improving service delivery and poverty reduction.

On behalf of the Timiza Ugatuzi Secretariat, we had the opportunity to introduce the programme to the regional civil society networks taking cognizance of the strategic role the networks can play in the success of devolution in Kenya and Timiza Ugatuzi, with a focus on output 3 of the programme : “Government and citizens collaborate effectively to address key problems in service delivery and poverty reduction”.

The purpose of the clinics is to access capacities of the networks in terms of its  structures and how they have been able to undertake previous activities with the possibility of future collaboration or partnership with Act! in strengthening public participation and citizen engagement in the counties.

This processes are aimed at understanding and managing any risks regarding capacity and capability to deliver on the programme objectives. Through it, we were able to jointly identify and tackle any risks or issues identified at the outset and develop strategies of how the risks will be monitored and addressed.
