We were pleased to host the Commission on Administrative Justice (Ombudsman Kenya) for a strategic engagement under the Reformed Elections for Enhanced Democracy and Inclusion (REDI) Programme, funded by the Embassy of Sweden in Nairobi.
The discussions explored opportunities to strengthen collaboration in advancing administrative justice, access to information, civic engagement, and social cohesion as Kenya prepares for the 2027 General Election.
Key areas of convergence included strengthening complaints management and public accountability systems, promoting proactive disclosure of election information, leveraging digital technologies to enhance transparency, and expanding civic awareness initiatives that empower citizens—particularly young people—to participate meaningfully in democratic processes.
The engagement also underscored the importance of evidence-driven collaboration in addressing emerging electoral risks, including misinformation, declining public trust, voter exclusion, and electoral disputes, while reinforcing institutional accountability throughout the electoral cycle.
We look forward to working closely with the Commission on Administrative Justice and other accountability institutions to advance transparent, inclusive, and peaceful electoral processes.
