REDI DESIGN CLINIC: Turning Evidence into Action for Kenya’s 2027 Elections

From 22–24 October 2026, Act Change Transform (Act!), with support from the Embassy of Sweden in Nairobi, convened 12 Civil Society Organisation (CSO) partners for the Reformed Elections for Enhanced Democracy and Inclusion (REDI) Programme Design Clinic in Nairobi County. The clinic provided a platform for partners to translate evidence from the Public Perception Study, Electoral Conflict Risk Mapping and Political Economy Analysis into focused, context-responsive interventions ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The clinic enabled peer review, technical feedback and defining collaborative delivery approaches, with partners refining proposals, results frameworks and costed workplans to strengthen alignment and complementarity across the REDI portfolio.

The discussions reinforced that 𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹, 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. Beyond strengthening social cohesion and early warning and early response systems, partners explored approaches to inclusive civic and voter education, countering misinformation and disinformation, election observation, citizen feedback and accountability.

Key priorities emerging from the clinic included:
