Responsive and accountable governance emanates from the State’s leadership working cohesively with its citizens to devise and consent on a common vision for their country that will fruitfully guide the development efforts focused on the wellbeing of its citizens.
Responsive and accountable governance involves the people in key processes that include decision making, policy making and implementation. It also invokes its citizens to be involved in monitoring and evaluation processes. It draws attention to the agreement between the state and its citizens thus ensuring the the state addresses the peoples’ specific needs hence citizens hold them accountable for their decisions and actions to them.
It develops institutions, systems, structures and practices that promote and support the involvement and participation of the general public whilst ensuring easy and equal access to services by all. Even as we encourage citizen participation and engagement, we advocate for peaceful interactions all the way.
