The overall objective of the focus area is to enable Act! effectively and sustainably discharge its mandate. The priority elements of attention include human resources and leadership development; institutional sustainability; knowledge management; and improving systems, policies and structures.

Act! as an organization delving deeper into its internal operations and how it integrates its staff towards the achievement of its objectives in line with its vision. Act! is investing greatly in improving the capabilities of their staff by building their capacities in their various roles within the organization. Act! continues to derive mechanisms geared towards improving its systems, policies and structures while strengthening the Human Resources aspect of the organization.

In a bid to achieve organizational excellence, Act! is governed by a board of highly skilled and qualified professionals who bear Act’s vision at heart and equally communicate same externally. Act’s leadership is flexible giving its staff an opportunity to grow and enhance their skill set while encouraging personal development as well as that of the organization.
With the increased competition of the dwindling developmental funding, Act! acknowledges the need to develop a self-sustainability mechanism pertinent to bringing stability to its institutional resource.

Act! has embraced knowledge management to enable organizational learning through the adoption of a learning culture that encourages knowledge sharing thus enabling employees to do so at ease. Act! is working towards successful knowledge management that will ensure specialized knowledge of employees is better utilized, allowing for better situational awareness as well as opening doors for learning about best practices, lessons learned and overall organizational improvement.
