During electoral cycles disruptions characterized by ethnic/regional zoning tend occur due to political intolerance amongst the residents. As the general elections beckons , Act!, through the Resilience Peace and Stability programme funded by The Royal Danish Embassy in Kenya found it necessary to engage with strategic partners such as The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC). The peace engagements mentioned were held in the month of July along the Nandi-Kisumu boarder as well as the Nandi-Kakamega border.

The activities provided a platform for dialogue with various stakeholders including political aspirants to commit to peace. More to that, the forums sought to: Provide a platform for communities to reaffirm the peace and security situation of the mentioned counties, Secure the commitment of the political class in maintaining peace especially during the electioneering period and build consensus on the role of stakeholders including grassroot CSOs in promoting violence free elections.

The engagement saw: conversations that led to strengthened formal and informal community structures for peaceful co-existence, A commitment by political leaders to promote peaceful and violent-free elections and High-level consensus among stakeholders in Nandi, Kisumu and Kakamega Counties on promoting peaceful coexistence before, during and after the 2022 General Elections.
