Joint consultation meeting led by the Intergovernmental Relations Technical Committee (IGRTC).

The Kenya Devolution Programme (KDP) – Timiza Ugatuzi, funded by the British High Commission, recently supported a vital joint consultation meeting led by the Intergovernmental Relations Technical Committee (IGRTC). This meeting brought together key institutions, including the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC), the Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA), the Office of the Controller of Budget, the Public Service Commission, the National Lands Commission (NLC), and the Kenya Law Reform Commission (KLRC), to shape the strategic agenda for the 11th National & County Government Coordinating Summit (The Summit).
The Summit, established under the Intergovernmental Relations Act, 2012, serves as Kenya’s apex body for fostering collaboration between national and county governments. Chaired by the President, with the Chairperson of the Council of Governors as vice-chair, it provides a platform for all 47 governors to address critical governance issues.
As the Secretariat to the Summit, IGRTC plays a key role in ensuring seamless coordination and consultation between the two levels of government. During this consultative meeting, participants reviewed progress from the 10th Summit, harmonized the strategic agenda for the next Summit, and explored opportunities for future collaboration.
This milestone reflects the growing strength of intergovernmental relations in Kenya, as IGRTC continues to foster cooperation and consultation for better service delivery and the realization of devolution goals.
