USAID Kenya Electoral Conflicts Mitigation and Civic/Voter Education Support. (ECCES)

Program Description

The ECCES Program is a 3-year, USAID-funded Program implemented by Act!.The Goal of the ECCES Activity is that civil society and youth successfully participate in democratic processes, lead voter/civic education and implement local strategies to mitigate and prevent electoral violence.

The Program as part of USAID’s Kenya Inclusive, Governance, Accountability, Performance and Participation (Kenya-IGAPP) electoral conflict mitigation and civic/voter education support component which contributes to Result Area II – Accountability and transparency in electoral and democratic processes improved, while citizen resilience against political manipulation enhanced.

The Goal of the ECCES Activity is that civil society and youth successfully participate in democratic processes, lead voter/civic education and implement local strategies to mitigate and prevent electoral violence.
To achieve this, ECCES seeks to achieve the following K-IGAPP outcomes:
ECCES Activity is primarily implemented across 18 target counties, namely: Mombasa, Kilifi, Garissa, Isiolo, Kiambu, Uasin-Gishu, Nandi, West Pokot, Laikipia, Tana-River, Nakuru, Migori, Kisumu, Bungoma, Kwale, Kajiado, Trans Nzoia and Nairobi.
