Validation meeting for the National Strategy to Prevent and Counter Violent Extremism (NSPCVE)

Through the ARIVE Program, funded by the Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund , we supported the National Counter Terrorism Centre in hosting a validation meeting for the National Strategy to Prevent and Counter Violent Extremism (NSPCVE), bringing together youth from across all Counties. Key stakeholders, including GCERF, joined this vital event.
Participants engaged extensively with tools like the Radicalization Index and Baseline Survey Findings, which reveal emerging threats and shape proactive, data-driven responses. This collaborative review underscored the importance of evolving our national strategy with insights that meet the dynamic challenges of today’s environment.
The interactive Baraza session fostered a meaningful exchange, allowing youth leaders to ask questions, provide feedback, and analyze findings, while breakout sessions enabled diverse teams to review and refine NSPCVE sections. This process enriched the strategy with multi-perspective insights and best practices from on-the-ground experiences.
Now validated, the NSPCVE moves to the National Security Council and the President for adoption. Mr. Kibiego Kigen of NCTC encouraged youth to take active roles in creating County Action Plans and Annual Work Plans, driving the strategy forward at the community level. This initiative is a powerful stride toward a secure, unified Kenya, with youth leading the way. Together, we’re forging a cohesive, actionable path to counter violent extremism.
