At Act!, we’re proud of the impact our ARIVE program, funded by Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund, is making in communities like Isiolo.
By addressing mistrust between communities and government, ARIVE empowers those most vulnerable to radicalization—including youth, women, and marginalized groups. Through our local partner Isiolo Ceed, young people have been trained in practical skills like sugarcane juice production, equipped with startup kits, and supported to build sustainable livelihoods.
Take Suleiman of EcoSawa Group, for example—his journey from trainee to trainer is proof that economic empowerment is key to preventing violent extremism (VE). As he puts it: “When you’re busy earning an income, you have no time for idle thoughts or dangerous influences.”
Together, we’re creating safer, more resilient communities.
